Discraft approach disc in ESP plastic — the SS version, straighter and with more glide than the Zone. With a double-foil stamp.

Double metallic foil stamp

The Zone SS takes the iconic Zone and fine-tunes it for a straighter flight with more glide — according to Discraft's own official description. With speed 4, glide 4, turn -1 and fade 2, it flies further than the standard Zone, resists turning in the early phase and finishes with a gentle, reliable fade. Low profile, beadless and comfortable for both backhand and forehand — it comes out clean at any release angle.

It's the perfect disc when you need precision inside 90 metres with enough fade to stick the landing. It shines on touch forehands, straight-line approaches, hyzer flips and anhyzers that flatten out. Intermediate players will find it easier to handle than the original Zone; advanced players will use it for situations where the Zone is too overstable. In ESP the grip is exceptional and the disc stands up to wear very well.

ESP

Discraft premium plastic launched in 2006, created to combine exceptional grip with great durability. Opaque in appearance with its trademark colour swirls, it's grippier than Z from the very first throw and gradually beats in towards a slightly more understable flight with use. Slightly less durable than standard Z, but the difference is minimal under normal conditions.

Kastaplast Järn K1 Hard— also a beadless overstable approach disc (4.5/3/0/3). The Järn has less glide and more fade — shorter, with more hook. The Zone SS flies straighter and further before the finish.

Discmania Exo Soft Tactic— the Tactic (4/2/0/3) is also an overstable approach disc, but with less glide and more fade. The Zone SS is more versatile — longer, straighter and with more shot-shaping options thanks to its turn -1.

Innova Pig— the benchmark very overstable approach disc (3/1/0/3). The Pig is much shorter and more extreme. The Zone SS is for situations where you need control and moderate distance, not just aggressive stopping power.
