Understable Kastaplast distance driver in K1 Hard plastic. Designed to fly far without a powerful arm; recommended for beginners.

The Älva is Kastaplast's understable distance driver, designed to fly far without needing a powerful arm. Its Swedish name means “elf”, and the flight reflects it: light, floaty and with exceptional glide. With speed 11, glide 6 and turn -2, it turns right (for right-hand backhand) in the early phase before finishing straight with a gentle fade.

The manufacturer itself recommends it for beginners and players with a slower arm, as it needs less power than other distance drivers to show its full potential. With more power, the turn increases and it can be used for anhyzer lines or rollers. One thing though — watch out for headwinds: its high glide and negative turn make it vulnerable in those conditions.

K1 Hard

A stiffer version of Kastaplast's premium K1 plastic. It keeps the polished finish and the blend of firmness and grip that define K1, but its extra hardness means it wears more slowly and adds a touch of stability. Ideal if you want to keep the mold's original flight for longer without the plastic softening with use.

Innova Leopard 3
— a similar understable, beginner-friendly profile, but the Älva has more glide and more turn, so it flies further with less power.

Discraft Heat
— also understable and accessible for slower arms, but the Älva is faster (speed 11 vs 9) and offers more distance in favourable conditions.

Dynamic Discs Escape— comparable understability, but the Älva has superior glide and K1 Hard is noticeably more durable.
