Distance driver from Paul McBeth's line in ESP plastic, prototype edition. The evolution of the Zeus, with more resistance for powerful arms.

The Ares is the official evolution of the “Zeus 2.0” — the most eagerly awaited disc in the McBeth line since the first prototypes appeared at the 2026 Disc East Expo. According to Discraft, it was born from a simple idea: take the feel and shot-shaping ability of the Zeus and give it more torque resistance and stability for powerful arms and demanding conditions. With speed 12, glide 6, turn -1 and fade 2, it flies further than the Zeus thanks to the extra glide and finishes with more bite — without losing the feel in the hand that players already know and love.

It's the disc you reach for when you want to throw with full power without sacrificing reliability. The first prototypes quickly became one of the most sought-after discs of the year among pros and advanced players — even before the official release. The Prototype edition is especially coveted by collectors and fans of the McBeth line as the mold's first commercial run.

ESP (Prototype)

Discraft premium plastic with exceptional grip from the very first throw. Opaque finish with colour swirls that are unique on every disc. In the Prototype edition the stamp carries the disc's original launch design, making it a standout piece within the McBeth line catalogue. It gradually beats in towards a slightly more understable flight with use.

Si lo comparamos con...

Innova Destroyer Champion— the world benchmark overstable distance driver (12/5/-1/3). The Destroyer has more fade and less glide. The Ares has more glide (6 vs 5) and a gentler fade — more potential distance with a more controlled finish.

Latitude 64 Ballista Pro— speed 14 and very overstable (14/4/0/3). The Ballista is faster and more demanding. The Ares, at speed 12 with turn -1, is more accessible for arms that can't yet get the most out of the Ballista.

Kastaplast Grym X— a Swedish overstable distance driver (12/5/-1/3). Numbers very similar to the Ares but with less glide. The Ares has the glide 6 that sets it apart — more distance before the finish in favourable conditions.
