Discmania’s most understable fairway driver, in Neo plastic. For slower arms, beginners, rollers and shaped shots.

At full power the Function can flip all the way into a roller. Players with a big arm should throw it on a deep hyzer to keep it under control — or simply use it for sky rollers and extreme escape shots in the woods

The Function is Discmania’s most understable fairway driver to date — and the manufacturer says so itself. According to Discmania: “those who enjoy the Essence but want something flippier are going to fall in love with this disc. The Function is designed for players with lower arm speed, beginners and anyone who enjoys the flight of an understable fairway driver that executes turning shots quickly and easily”. With speed 8, glide 6, turn -4 and fade 1, it turns right from the start and glides for an eternity before a minimal fade.

Its turn of -4 is one of the most extreme in the Discmania range — for beginners and intermediate players it’s the ultimate distance machine without needing arm power; for advanced players it’s the tool for extreme hyzer flips, long sustained turnovers and sky rollers. Glide 6 ensures the disc stays in the air much longer than you’d expect. The beadless profile with a moderate rim makes it very comfortable in the hand on both backhand and forehand.

Neo

The most durable and stiffest plastic in Discmania's Evolution line, made by Latitude 64. It's a blend of Opto and Gold Line plastics — the result is a semi-translucent plastic with a creamy finish, extremely durable and with exceptional grip in any condition. It has a certain flexibility that gives it a very natural feel in the hand and adds a bit of extra snap at the end of the throw. Neo is the plastic that launched the Evolution line with the Instinct — the first disc in this plastic.

Discmania Neo Essence X-out— another understable Discmania fairway driver (8/6/-2/1). The Essence has less turn (-2 vs -4). The Function Neo is noticeably more understable — for anyone who finds the Essence too overstable or wants more turn.

Dynamic Discs Fuzion Motive— another very understable fairway driver for beginners (8/6/-3/2). The Motive has less turn and more fade. The Function Neo has more turn (-4 vs -3) and less fade — it turns more aggressively and finishes even more softly.

Innova Star Roadrunner— the classic benchmark very understable fairway driver (9/5/-4/1). The Roadrunner is a little faster. The Function Neo has more glide (6 vs 5) — more gliding distance with the same aggressive turn
