The Explorer is one of the most respected fairway drivers in the Latitude 64 range — so much so that it was voted 2018 Disc of the Year by the disc golf community. With speed 7, glide 5, turn 0 and fade 2, it offers a straight, clean, predictable flight that finishes with a reliable, moderate fade. Originally developed with World Champion Ricky Wysocki, the mold was designed to be the go-to disc for any fairway control drive.

This 2025 Team Series edition carries the stamp of Linus Carlsson, Sweden's top-rated player and one of the great rising talents on the international tour. Opto-X offers more firmness and durability than standard Opto, keeping the mold's flight characteristics for many more rounds. Excellent for backhand on tight fairways, control forehands and any situation where you need the disc to do exactly what you ask — no more, no less.

Opto-X

A reinforced premium version of Latitude 64's Opto plastic. It combines the same high-durability polymers as Opto with an additional blend that adds stiffness and tends to produce slightly more overstable flights. Translucent look with very vivid colours. More wear-resistant than standard Opto — it keeps the mold's flight properties for longer thanks to its extra firmness.

Innova Teebird— almost identical flight numbers (7/5/0/2). The Teebird is the long-standing benchmark in this segment; the Explorer offers a slightly more modern profile, and Opto-X is comparable in durability to Innova's Champion.

Discmania FD (Jackal)— the FD has turn -1, a bit more understable and accessible. The Explorer is more neutral and more reliable into a headwind thanks to its turn 0.

Latitude 64 Opto Explorer— the same mold in standard plastic. Opto-X is firmer, a bit more overstable and holds its original flight better for longer. Standard Opto is a little softer in the hand.
