Anax Big Z

The Anax is the third disc in Paul McBeth's signature line with Discraft. Its name comes from ancient Greek and means “military leader” — a disc that rules the fairway. With speed 10, glide 6 and fade 3, it offers an unusual combination: a long flight with plenty of glide, but with a reliable, pronounced hook at the end. It flies straight for most of its path and finishes with a consistent fade that never lets you down.

What makes it special is its headwind resistance: instead of nose-diving like other overstable discs, its high glide keeps it flying and it still finishes. It's a very versatile disc on backhand and especially effective on forehand, where it handles torque with no problem. Beginners will find the fade too pronounced at first, but as you gain power this disc becomes a very reliable control weapon.
