Kastaplast throwing putter in K3 plastic, with a little more fade than the Reko. For powerful approaches and putts into a headwind.

The Tuff is Kastaplast’s throwing putter — the Reko’s cousin with more glide and more fade. According to the manufacturer, it “takes you from A to B in the smoothest way possible”. With speed 3, glide 4, turn 0 and fade 2, it flies straight for its whole path and finishes with a stronger fade than the Reko — more reliable into a headwind and more predictable on powerful approach shots. Its small but well-defined bead gives a consistent grip and makes for a clean release on both backhand and forehand.

Ideal for putter drives on short holes, approach shots from 25 to 75 metres and putts from any distance. Its glide of 4 makes it float more than most overstable putters — getting more distance before the fade without sacrificing a reliable finish. In K3 it seasons with use towards a slightly straighter flight, so over time it can become the go-to putting putter for many players.

K3 Line

Kastaplast's base plastic. Very grippy in all conditions thanks to its slightly textured surface, with a feel halfway between soft and firm. It beats in faster than K1, which over time makes it a little more workable. Compared with other base plastics on the market, K3 is among the most durable in its category. In the Berg specifically, K3 flies a bit more stable than K1 and lands with much less ground play.

Kastaplast Reko K3
— the Tuff’s more neutral sibling (3/3/0/1). The Reko has less glide and less fade — straighter and softer at the end. The Tuff goes further and finishes with more bite. Choose depending on whether you want more distance or a more neutral flight.

Discraft Challenger OS Putter Line— another overstable beaded putter (2/3/0/3). The Challenger OS has more fade and a much sharper finish. The Tuff has more glide and a softer fade — more distance and more versatility on approaches.

Dynamic Discs Warden— a neutral beadless putter (2/4/0/1). The Warden is straighter and more accessible. The Tuff has more fade and more wind resistance — for players who want a putter that finishes more reliably in tough conditions.
