Discraft fairway driver in Z Line plastic, straight and easy to control. It forgives small mistakes, whether you throw with lots of power or little.

Discraft 2009 Driver of the Year

The Stalker was Discraft's 2009 Driver of the Year — and it's still one of the best-loved fairway drivers in the range more than fifteen years later. The manufacturer's official description sums it up perfectly: “Whether you throw hard or soft, the Stalker is a straight flyer that won't turn over unless you want it to. It forgives small release errors and produces a gentle finish with soft landings that don't skip far from the target. Like a Buzzz with driver distance.” With speed 7, glide 5, turn -1 and fade 2, and a stability rating of 1.1, the Stalker flies with minimal early turn before a moderate, completely predictable fade.

Its narrow 1.6 cm rim is one of its most distinctive traits — it gives you more control on backhand and a comfortable feel for any hand size. It's not a disc that surprises you: what you see in the numbers is what you get, throw after throw. The community describes it as “a Buzzz with driver distance” — and that says it all. In Z Line it tends to fly a bit more stable than in ESP, perfect for anyone who wants the most consistent and durable Stalker.

Z Line

Discraft's most durable plastic, formerly known as Elite-Z. Translucent look with vivid colours and highly wear-resistant. It comes out of the factory a bit firmer and less grippy than ESP, but gains grip progressively with use. Its biggest advantage over other plastics is that it keeps its original flight characteristics for much longer — ideal if you want your disc to fly the same round after round.

Discraft Z Line Zombee— almost identical numbers (6/4/-1/1). The Zombee is a little slower with less fade. The Stalker Z is a little faster, with more glide and more fade — the natural step up from the Zombee, with a bit more distance and finish.

Latitude 64 Grand Mighty— also a neutral fairway driver (7/5/-1/2). Identical numbers to the Stalker. The difference is the plastic and the brand — Discraft's Z Line vs Latitude 64's Royal Grand. Choose based on your preferred brand and feel.

Discmania Neo Instinct X-out— also a neutral fairway driver (7/5/0/2). The Instinct has turn 0 and is a bit more overstable. The Stalker Z has turn -1 — a bit more workable with more early turn for players who want less finish.
