Very overstable Obsidian Discs putter in firm, durable H9 plastic. Ideal for approaches into the wind and putts you can't afford to let run away.

The Splinter is Obsidian Discs' overstable putter — flat top, rounded rim and a fade of 3.5 that makes it one of the most overstable putters on the market. According to DGPuttheads: “the most overstable putter I've ever thrown”.

The Splinter is the most overstable putter in the Obsidian Discs range — and one of the most overstable putters on the market. The manufacturer sums it up perfectly: “very overstable, it won't flip even when thrown at full power, with a predictable, reliable fade. Perfect for drives, approaches and putting. The underside of the rim is comfortably rounded to help you release the disc with the same precision every time. If you're a beginner and want to start with just one disc, choose the Splinter.” With speed 3, glide 2, turn 0 and fade 3.5, it's a disc that never turns over and always finishes with authority.

A fade of 3.5 is an exceptional number for a putter — very few putters on the market reach that level of overstability. The flat top and rounded underside of the rim make it comfortable for both backhand and forehand, and torque is no problem at all thanks to the mold's extreme resistance. According to DGPuttheads: “the most overstable putter I've ever thrown — perfect for windy conditions and hyzer flick shots at short and medium range”. The glide 2 is deliberately low — the disc drops quickly and lands where it should, with no extra float to complicate control.

H9

Obsidian Discs premium plastic, developed in collaboration with Finland's high-end plastics industry. Exceptionally durable, flexible and with great grip even in wet conditions. The community compares it to Kastaplast's K1 or a slightly softer Innova Star, but with better grip from the very first throw. It's also one of the best plastics on the market for custom dyeing.

Kastaplast K3 Hard Järn— also a very overstable approach disc (4.5/3/0/3). The Järn is a little faster with more glide. The Splinter H9 has a fade of 3.5 and only 2 glide — more extreme in overstability and shorter in distance. The Järn is more versatile, the Splinter more predictable.

Discraft Z Line Wasp— a classic overstable midrange (5/3/0/2). The Wasp is faster with more glide. The Splinter H9 is much shorter and more overstable — for short approach situations where the Wasp would go too far.

Discmania Active Shogun— an overstable putter with a bead (2/4/0/2). The Shogun has much more glide and less fade. The Splinter H9 is far more overstable and shorter — for players who need maximum bite when putting in the wind.
