Beaded putter from Discmania’s Active line, in an affordable plastic with plenty of grip. Ideal for learning to putt with a comfortable, reliable disc.

The Shogun is the first beaded putter in Discmania’s Active line — a milestone for the range, which until now had no deep-profile disc with a raised rim. With speed 2, glide 4, turn 0 and fade 2, it offers a straight, predictable flight with a moderate, reliable finish. A “deep dish” profile with an ergonomic bead gives you a natural, consistent grip for putts at the basket as well as approach shots and drives on short holes.

Built to handle power — it works well for soft throws and harder shots alike without losing control. According to the manufacturer, it offers “point and shoot” accuracy with moderate wind resistance thanks to its neutral-to-stable flight. Suitable for every level: beginners will find it comfortable and predictable, intermediate players will use it for controlled approaches, and advanced players for putter drives on short fairways.

Active

The base plastic of Discmania's Active line. It combines firmness and softness to the touch in just the right balance — according to the manufacturer itself, it's “the perfect balance between keeping the disc firm as well as soft to the touch”. Grippier than a standard base plastic and more durable than most entry-level plastics. Natural in the hand, without feeling overly stiff. Ideal for players who want a comfortable plastic that stands up to everyday use.

Kastaplast Berg K3
— another beaded putter with a deep profile, but the Berg (1/1/0/2) is much shorter with no glide. The Shogun has more glide and covers more distance — more versatile for long putts and approach shots.

Dynamic Discs Judge Classic Blend— the benchmark beaded neutral putter (2/4/0/1). The Judge has a gentler fade; the Shogun finishes with more bite (fade 2). Choose depending on whether you prefer a softer or a more reliable finish.

Discmania Exo Soft Tactic— also from Discmania and beaded, but the Tactic (4/2/0/3) is much more overstable and shorter. The Shogun is more neutral, with more glide, and more versatile for putts and mid-distance approach shots.
