Distance driver from Latitude 64’s Easy to Use line, in lightweight Opto Air plastic. The next step after the Diamond and the Jade for gaining distance without power.

Because it’s so light, the Sapphire is more sensitive to headwinds than a standard driver. In strong wind it can turn over more than expected — ideally throw it in calm conditions or with a tailwind.

The Sapphire is the first distance driver in Latitude 64’s Easy-to-Use line — the brand’s answer to the question “are distance drivers only for pros?”. Designed specifically as the natural step after the Diamond and the Jade, the Sapphire offers more speed and more reach without sacrificing accessibility. With speed 10, glide 6, turn -2 and fade 1.5, it produces a long, elegant S-curve that maximises distance without demanding a big arm.

Its slim profile makes for clean releases and is especially comfortable for small hands. Opto Air at 150–160 g gives you more release speed with less physical effort — letting players who would fall short with other drivers reach 100 metres or more. The fade of 1.5 — an in-between number Latitude 64 uses to show a softer finish than standard — makes the landing predictable without too much bite.

Opto Air

An ultralight version of Latitude 64's premium Opto plastic. It uses exactly the same material as standard Opto, but adds air microbubbles across the top and the centre of the rim to reduce weight without significantly altering the disc's mass distribution. It keeps Opto's durability and translucent colours, although it's somewhat less wind-resistant than the standard version due to its lower weight.

Latitude 64 Jade Gold— the step before the Sapphire in the Easy to Use line (9/6/-2/1). The Jade is a little slower with less fade. The Sapphire steps up to speed 10 and covers more distance — the natural next level.

Discraft Heat ESP— another accessible understable distance driver (9/6/-3/1). The Heat has more turn and is a bit more extreme. The Sapphire Opto Air is more predictable and has a more reliable finish thanks to its fade of 1.5.

Kastaplast Älva K1— another understable, accessible driver (11/6/-2/2). The Älva is faster and heavier. The Sapphire Opto Air is lighter and more accessible for developing arms that can’t yet generate the Älva’s speed.
