Overstable Axiom Discs midrange in Particle Glow Proton plastic, GYROpalooza 2025 edition. A reliable fade in the wind and more glide than other stable midranges.

Only the second time ever that the Pyro has come with a non-Prism rim. Particle Glow Proton is a brand-new plastic: glow particles embedded in the Proton that light up under UV light while also activating the base colour. The “UFO Sighting” stamp is based on real documented sightings. Exclusive to the GYROpalooza 2025 box.

The Pyro is Axiom’s first overstable midrange — and one of the most respected in the whole MVP/Axiom family. With speed 5, glide 4, turn 0 and fade 2.5, it offers more glide than the MVP Deflector while keeping a reliable, consistent fade in any conditions. In the manufacturer’s words: “stable for consistent flights in strong winds and powerful throws without losing the line”. Players right across the power spectrum use it — stable enough to trust in any wind, but not so overstable that you have to fight to make it fly well.

This GYROpalooza 2025 edition is especially significant: only the second time ever that the Pyro has come with a non-Prism rim. The core is Particle Glow Proton — a brand-new plastic where glow particles are embedded inside the Proton, creating a unique visual effect: part colour-glow, part field of glowing particles under UV. The “UFO Sighting” stamp was illustrated by ZAM based on real UFO sightings documented by the “Sightings Department”.

Particle Glow Proton

Axiom's new technology — standard Proton plastic (ultra-durable, translucent and firm) with glow particles embedded in the material. The particles glow under UV light while also lighting up Proton's base colour. The result is a unique double visual effect: under UV light the disc looks like it has a field of stars inside. Same flight as standard Proton — with a visual finish unprecedented in Axiom's history.

Discraft ESP Malta McBeth— another very overstable midrange (5/4/1/3). The Malta has positive turn and more fade. The Pyro Particle has turn 0 and fade 2.5 — a bit more neutral early on and a less extreme finish than the Malta.

Westside VIP-Ice Gatekeeper Hockey— a neutral midrange from the Trilogy family (4/5/0/2). The Gatekeeper is more neutral with more glide. The Pyro Particle is more overstable with more fade — for when the Gatekeeper flies too straight.

Innova Star Roc3— the classic benchmark overstable midrange (5/4/0/3). The Roc3 has more fade. The Pyro Particle has more glide and fade 2.5 — more distance before the fade with the same level of reliability in the wind.
