Thought Space Athletics’ first fairway driver, in Aura plastic. Neutral and easy for beginners, versatile for advanced players.

Thought Space Athletics (TSA) is a disc golf company focused on unique art and design, making its discs in the same factory as MVP/Axiom. The Mantra is its first fairway driver — the disc TSA introduced itself to the world with.

The Mantra is the disc Thought Space Athletics introduced itself to the disc golf world with — and also the first fairway driver in its line. With speed 9, glide 5, turn -2 and fade 2, it offers a neutral-to-workable flight that’s accessible for beginners and versatile for advanced players. In the manufacturer’s words: “the average player will find the Mantra easy to control, with the ability to shape lines and get distance effortlessly. More advanced players will find the Mantra a perfect disc for hyzer flips or rollers”.

The profile is noticeably flat — with no appreciable dome — which gives it a very comfortable feel on both backhand and forehand. The 2.0 cm rim is manageable for most hands and allows a clean release in any direction. In Aura the plastic is true to its numbers — one of its strong points according to the community — and the opaque finish with vivid colours makes TSA’s art stamps shine in all their glory.

Aura

Thought Space Athletics' opaque premium plastic — produced in the same factory as MVP/Axiom and equivalent to Neutron in its characteristics. An opaque blend of premium polymers with excellent durability and feel. Vivid colours and a wide range available. Decent flex, but on the stiffer side of the spectrum. According to the manufacturer: “it gives a premium feel in the hand with vivid colours and swirls”. True to its flight numbers.

Kastaplast K1 Grind Falk
— another understable fairway driver with good glide (9/6/-2/1). Almost identical numbers to the Mantra. The Falk is in recycled K1 plastic. The Mantra Aura is in TSA’s premium opaque plastic — the same stability, a different brand philosophy.

Discmania Neo Essence X-out— another understable fairway driver (8/6/-2/1). The Essence is a little slower with the same turn. The Mantra Aura is faster — more raw distance with the same turn and an even softer fade (1 vs 1).

Westside Tournament Underworld Zen— another very understable fairway driver (7/6/-3/1). The Underworld is slower with more turn. The Mantra Aura is faster and more neutral — more distance and more control for anyone who finds the Underworld too understable.
