Stable Obsidian Discs midrange in H9 plastic, with plenty of glide. It flies straight and finishes with a predictable fade, even for slower arms.

The Magma is Obsidian Discs' overstable midrange — the one that fills the “overstable Buzzz” slot in your bag. According to the community (Infinite Discs): “10/10 if you're looking for that overstable midrange slot. The numbers are surprisingly true to the actual flight for an Obsidian disc.”

The Magma is Obsidian Discs' go-to midrange — “stable to overstable, with plenty of glide”. In the manufacturer's words: “the Magma won't flip even at high speeds, but flies straight until it slows down for a predictable fade. Even for slower arms the Magma won't be too overstable; instead it remains a very easy-to-control, reliable disc.” With speed 5, glide 5, turn 0 and fade 2, it's a midrange that flies surprisingly straight before finishing with a moderate, predictable fade.

According to the Infinite Discs community, the numbers are true to the actual flight — a rarity for an Obsidian disc, where the Rift and the Shard tend to fly more understable than expected. The glide 5 is exceptional for an overstable midrange — it gives you far more distance than you'd expect from a turn 0 disc. Perfect for neutral-to-overstable approach shots, midrange drives on medium-length holes and any situation where the Buzzz would be too understable.

H9

Obsidian Discs premium plastic, developed in collaboration with Finland's high-end plastics industry. Exceptionally durable, flexible and with great grip even in wet conditions. The community compares it to Kastaplast's K1 or a slightly softer Innova Star, but with better grip from the very first throw. It's also one of the best plastics on the market for custom dyeing.

Discraft Fuzed Z Buzzz
— the benchmark neutral midrange (5/4/-1/1). The Buzzz is a bit more understable with less glide. The Magma H9 has more glide and is a bit more overstable — for when the Buzzz turns too much with power.

Westside VIP-Ice Gatekeeper Hockey— also a neutral midrange with plenty of glide (4/5/0/2). The Gatekeeper is a little slower with the same fade. The Magma H9 has more speed and the same glide — more distance for the same stability.

Axiom Neutron Hex— also a neutral speed 5 midrange (5/5/-1/1). The Hex has turn -1 and less fade. The Magma H9 has turn 0 and more fade — slightly more overstable and more reliable in the wind than the Hex.
